Daniel EKTA Götesson | Jag har metoder för allt
We are pleased to present our first solo presentation with Gothenburg-based artist Daniel EKTA Götesson. EKTA is a multidisciplinary artist known for his coherent and distinctive expression in whatever medium he takes on. His carefully considered compositions emerge in a flow where the process is one of assembling and disassembling bits and pieces. He does not shy away from "making mistakes" but, on the contrary, develops methods to deliberately limit his own control over the process. He has even described his practice as a form of self-sabotage. The exhibition is divided between the two smaller rooms of the gallery and features drawings, collages, and paintings.
Daniel Götesson (b. ), known as EKTA, is a Swedish artist based in . EKTA works across numerous mediums, encompassing drawing, collage, painting, sculpture, textile, large murals and public works. He holds a BA in Illustration from London College of Communication, UK. His work has been exhibited extensively in Sweden and across Europe, and has been published in countless art-books and magazines such as The New York Times, Juxtapoz Magazine and Vanity Fair. Recent solo exhibitions include Nothing and Horizon, Galerie Slika, Lyon (2022), Paper Positions Berlin, Berlin (2022), Market Art Fair, Liljevalchs, Stockholm (2021), and When is, Alice Gallery, Brussels (2020). EKTA's murals and public works can be found in Italy, France, Croatia, Poland, and England. EKTA has worked on several public art commissions of varying scale both in Sweden and abroad, the most recent project being a 1450 sq. m. sculptural playground in Gothenburg, together with artist Patrik Bengtsson and New Order Arkitektur, and a commission of 5 large sculptures to be installed in Lissabon, Portugal.
