Hilda Hellström's The Blob, a combined bollard and bike-stand executed in white concrete, was first commissioned by ArkDes, Museum of Architecture, Sweden, in 2018 to become part of the exhibition "Public Luxury". In 2020, the blobs were produced for the inner city of Stockholm by Trafikkontoret, and installed at Norr Mälarstrand, Kungsholmen. The forms are generated through the use of an elastic mould, showcasing the materiality, volume and gravity of the casting compound.
